I whole-heartedly agree on this. 
So maybe we should just shelf this for now.

And I'll create a proper RFC for this so we can review the RFC and various
alternatives and issues with it.

A guy with strong opinions and I like that a lot, so don't stop being a bad
guy. 
Sorry if I came on a little strong.

Just tired of this whole limbo with spatial_ref_sys and what SRIDs am I
allowed to use for my entries.

Note to strk -- Paul is right, you get a little excited and move forward
without people getting a chance to say "Slow down, not sure this is a good
idea".

I do appreciate the fully worked out code that we could easily exercise (a
bit easier than an RFC) but do feel sad you put so much work into it :(
