[postgis-users] Problems with PostGIS Installation

Try the following:

$ initdb -D /usr/share/postgresql/data -U postgres

Initdb usually needs to be run as the "postgres" user on a unix system,
I'm not 
sure how this translates into the cygwin world, or if you are already
doing 
this... just something to consider.
