[postgis-users] Text in ShapeFile

shp2pgsql uses all the files and correlates the geometry in the .shp file to
the data record index in the .dbf file.  Basically there is one data record
for each geometry.  shp2pgsql should know what to do with all the files.

Then when shp2pgsql is used it automatically opens a text table?
